Big thank you to Josh Hoines for this awesome lake Ki report and video!

10/11/2017 - Today I fished Lake Ki. Lived near it all my life but had never fished it until today. No real expectations other than hoping to learn the lake a little. I ran God's Tooth Spoons, Frog pattern, Brown Trout, and 50/50 Gold. By the end of my fishing day, I landed over 40 fish. Frog pattern got hammered all day, Brown Trout the first half, and 50/50 gold the 2nd half of the day. I would literally go over a mark on the sonar, count to 5, and one of my lines would start bouncing. The God's Tooth just killed it today!

Excellent modification and results posted on Northwest Kokanee Addicts by Mike Bredstrand using green moon jelly tape over a 50/50 gold pattern.  Mike caught his 10 fish kokanee limit and lost an additional 6 fish.  Half the fish were caught on this modification.

Blessed to be mentioned by Ryan Hansen who participated in the 2017 Lake Stevens Kokanee derby and was the 2012 derby winner. Please check out his report below which he posted on Northwest Kokanee Addicts.

Lake Stevens Derby report! Long read lol. Dave Broussard Jeff Drale and I launched the sled at midnight and hung around the dock talking with some folks and getting our gear ready for the big day. Once on the lake we did not touch a single fish in the dark, which is a lot different from last year... As soon as the light crept through we started hitting fish immediately, rods were stacked 15' & 30' and two topwater rods off the back, everything fished maximum 30' back. We boated 14 fish pretty quick, mostly at the 15' depth on the riggers, but then struggled for the rest of the day to finish with 17 kokes and 2 cutts, with numerous kokes lost too. We saw a lot of great people on the water and did a live report through text to Duane Inglin! Later in the day when fishing Stevens in sun like we had yesterday, our tactics were fishing the shallower waters of 40-60' fishing 5-10' off the bottom, I'll tell you now that this can get very tricky and takes an awesome crew to get it done properly, or if you have bottom tracking canons it's a lot easier lol (which I don't) 😂 I will say I am disappointed in the turn out this year, we fished damn near alone a lot of the time and there were less boats than I've ever seen and less tickets sold than last year... the companies and organizations that put this derby on pay to stock the lakes you all love to fish, and support many events for children and our communities... I really hope they will continue this Derby next year. Big thank you to Dick Nite and Greg's for sponsoring the 1k top prize, biggest of any Kokanee Derby I've seen. And to all the local companies that sponsored all the other prizes. I have been waiting until after the derby to show what I've been using this year. So if you haven't heard of the Elgin Gods tooth spoons or used them yet... you should 😉 another big thank you to Josh Hoines for showing me these spoons. Larger blades on spinners have been my go to also, and pulling out the scents (Frank) that seems everyone has but no one else over here on the west side uses did the trick for the derby also. Until next year y'all, I hope we get another derby and I hope I see more of you out there enjoying the day!

Was fishing on Lake Tye in Monroe Washington last week.  Was getting skunked, tried everything, happened along side Russ, who was pulling Steal Head in left and right!  Russ says “try this” and hands me one of his “God’s Tooth’s”.  Put that on, limited out in 1 hour!  Thanks Russ
